I’m Beyza Yılmaz,
a fashion designer specializing in denim, sustainability, and customization. I’m completing my senior year in Fashion Design at Istanbul Technical University and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), based between Istanbul and New York. My work explores how garments can carry memory, protection, and personal meaning, combining storytelling with responsible design.
My Approach
I balance concept, craftsmanship, and functionality in every design. My process starts with research and storytelling, followed by careful material exploration, textile manipulation, and precise construction. Each piece is made to be both expressive and wearable, connecting the wearer to a story or experience.
Design Focus
Denim Design: Transforming recycled and surplus denim into modern, wearable pieces.
Sustainability: Prioritizing material reuse, slow fashion, and environmentally conscious practices.
Customization: Creating garments that adapt to the wearer, emphasizing individuality.
Narrative-Driven Collections: Designing around characters, emotions, and personal stories.
Vision
I aim to create garments that are durable, meaningful, and thoughtfully designed, prioritizing sustainability and personal connection. Through my work, I strive to contribute to a more intentional fashion industry, where every piece tells a story and respects both its maker and its wearer.
